Beginning to Edit Week 2

In our second week of editing, we successfully completed our rough draft of our film opener.

The second week of editing was much more difficult due to the monotony of editing at times, as well as the school computers excessively freezing during the worst moments. However, Weatherby still managed to edit and cut the clips to create a more fluid scene.

To finish, Weatherby decided to add some free music clips to the scene, as well as transitions. Both of these may seem minor, but they both add to the tone of the film opener heavily. Although editing could get a bit stressful, our rough draft came out just like we wanted it to.

Beginning to Edit Week 1

Me, Corey and Weatherby started editing this week on Adobe Premier Pro. We used premier pro due to all of us being familiar with it and since Weatherby was the main editor.

To start, Weatherby sorted out all of the footage in numerical order so that he wouldn't be lost. After this, he exported all of the footage into Premier pro and made our intro.

To end the week, Weatherby put together all of the clips in the timeline and sorted them out in order, creating a rough cut.

Beginning to Film Week 2

After filming the videos of Donte outside we next filmed my entrance into the house to introduce the new and final setting. I had the idea for a shot that would pan up and follow a character, which is what we used for this scene.

After this, we filmed the scene of Corey finding Donte dead. We accidentally filmed this scene out of order, making the editing for it a bit of a struggle. Luckily, Corey's acting skills saved the day.

The final scene was filmed last, the scene being the one where Corey finds the intruder Weatherby. We wanted to shoot it last as it ties the whole thing together and makes for a great shot.

Beginning to Film Week 1

The first scene filmed was inside of coreys house, which is the scene where he's watching Maury. This scene was a bit tricky to film due to the lack of natural lighting.

After finishing the clips inside, we filmed the clips of Donte outside on the phone. They were filmed as if Corey was actually talking to him so when we edited it later we could cut the footage to make it look much more realistic. Surprisingly, the lamp post gave good lighting and made for a good establishing shot of our second character.

To conclude the week, we filmed Donte's death scene. I had the idea of a shot that slowly pans to reveal the killer, Weatherby, being behind Donte all along. Luckily, the shot came out exactly how i wanted it to.
